Woods:
Louise
Woods was elected to the Board of Education in 1995 and is the
District 4 representative. She is a graduate of Duke
University and earned a master’s degree in social work from
the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Mrs.
Woods formerly worked as a social worker and parent educator,
and led education committees of PTA Council and League of
Women Voters. She is a Board Liaison to the Planning Liaison
Committee, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Advocate for Education and
the Board Equity Committee. She also serves on the N.C. School
Board Association Board of Directors.
She
chairs the Board’s Personnel Committee and is a member of
the Policy and Safety Committees. She and her husband Dick are
the parents of a son and a daughter, both graduates of CMS.
