To often decisions will be made without your input that could adversely affect your family, your property value or the services you expect. Organizations like Sardis Roads provide a voice and forum to address the issues most important to you.

Lassiter:
A successful entrepreneur and small business owner, John has business and public service expertise stretching over two decades. After receiving both undergraduate and law degrees from Wake Forest University, John served as Assistant Attorney General with the North Carolina Department of Justice.
He moved to Charlotte and joined Belk Stores Services in 1983 as Counsel in the legal department, was named Vice President in 1991 and Senior Vice President of Human Resources. In August of 1997, John started a new company, Carolina Legal Staffing LLC and serves as president and CEO. This service company, with offices in Charlotte, Raleigh and Columbia, provides permanent and temporary attorneys and support staff to law firms and corporate legal departments throughout North and South Carolina.
In 2003, John was elected as an at-large member of the Charlotte City Council. He chairs the Economic Development and Planning Committee, serves on the Planning Liaison, Government Affairs, and Restructuring Government Committees. He has also been appointed to the Charlotte Regional Partnership and the Mayor's Task Force on Cultural Facilities.
He previously served on the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education and served as vice chair from 1997 until 2001. He is immediate past- President of the Children's Law Center, and serves as a member of the boards for Junior Achievement, the Mecklenburg County Bar and the Dowd YMCA. He has previously served as chair of the Corporate Counsel Section of the North Carolina Bar Association, Professional Division Chair for the United Way of the Central Carolinas, the Charlotte Mecklenburg Planning Commission, the Charlotte Chamber Board of Advisors, The Council for Children and The Children's Theatre.
He is a 1991 fellow of the Institute of Political Leadership and a graduate of Leadership Charlotte, which recognized him with the Circle of Excellence award in 2001.
A native of Lexington, Kentucky, John and his wife Beverly, have two sons, Ben, a rising junior at UNC- Chapel Hill and Alex, a rising senior at Providence High School.
